Hello,
My name is Michelle, and I am the founder and CEO of MVD Consulting Inc., a management consulting firm located in Toronto.
I work with businesses and not-for-profit organizations to help them meet their strategic goals and to amplify their positive impact on clients and communities. I have always been naturally curious with a strong need to answer the question why? As a result, I successfully guide my clients to go deeper in their work, and ensure they deliver on their missions to improve lives and change the world.
After completing undergraduate studies in human biology at the University of Toronto, I decided I needed a new adventure, so I embarked on a six-months long Youth International Internship Program in the Caribbean and I ended up spending five years living and working in the region! I worked on internationally funded projects such as the Commonwealth Secretariat's Gender Management System pilot project in St. Kitts, a study of the root causes of gender-based violence in Jamaica, UN Women's Transformational Leadership Program in six Caribbean countries, and the World Bank's review of gender issues in Jamaica. I also co-authored a research methods course text and taught two undergraduate courses at the Institute for Gender and Development Studies at the University of the West Indies.
After returning to Toronto, I worked in the education, community health, legal, and gender-based violence prevention sectors. I was part-time faculty at both the University of Toronto at Scarborough and Humber College. Embracing new opportunities, I started MVD Consulting in 2015. I very much enjoy being an entrepreneur and helping other business owners along the way.
Sharing my skills as a volunteer is important and I served as a director on the board at the Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities, as co-chair of Cuso International's Ontario Area Council, and as a steering committee member of the East Scarborough Storefront. I am currently a director on the board at the Jamaican Canadian Association and co-Chair of the African Heritage Month Planning Committee at the Toronto District School Board. In the fall of 2020, the University of Toronto awarded me with the Arbor Award. This Award is the highest award bestowed on alumni for their service to the University.

I'm Queenie, the Administrative Assistant at MVD Consulting Inc.
I am a licensed professional teacher by profession, but I enjoy working as a virtual assistant and helping business owners scale their businesses. I am truly grateful to be on the team and to help each client with the services we offer. My responsibilities include handling the social media of the company, admin tasks, and managing the inbox and calendar. I also do research and help Michelle with tasks she needs help with.
